Flapper
Many young women in the 1920s adopted the flapper style. Instead of long dresses, women began bobbing their hair, wearing short skirts, high heels, and rounded hats with little or no brim. The new style showed that women had a larger sense of freedom. The women wore excessive amounts of makeup, danced at clubs, smoked cigarettes, and drove automobiles.
